We’re excited to welcome Jaden Johnston, our new Vice President of Inside Sales. After this last year, where so much in our worlds — personal and business — transitioned to online and remote experiences, we learned that we can build incredible relationships virtually. This spurred Lumen to think about how best we can serve our customers and make quicker connections with our partners and led us to shift to an Inside Sales team, which Jaden will lead.
Jaden brings a range of experience to the role and Lumen team — from product and project management to customer success, and inside sales. Most recently she was Head of Operations and Business Development at Tugboat and Director of Sales and Operations at Treehouse. In these roles, Jaden used her skills to build customer-centric sales processes from the ground up — assets that will help Lumen as we build up this function.
Jaden is particularly thrilled about taking on this new challenge for three reasons:
- Lumen’s mission to enable unprecedented learning for all students
- An increased focus on people and customers
- An opportunity to leverage data
“I feel so fortunate to be working for a company that has a strong mission and is really focused on student impact and outcomes,” said Jaden. “I truly believe in the way Lumen is bringing more access to higher education to under-represented communities and students. And, with this role and the team, we can focus more on our people and provide top-notch customer experiences.”
Data is going to be a big part of Jaden’s role. “As someone who has built processes from the ground up, I know how important it’s going to be to measure success along the way. We will need to dig into the data and be metrics-oriented.”
Jaden joins a diverse team of strong individuals, and she’ll be tasked with adding to the headcount to fully staff the Inside Sales team. “What I’ve learned in my past experiences is to absorb and listen — that is so valuable to me. There are best practices that I bring, and there is also a lot for me to understand from my teammates about the unique context of our business.”
